honestly i don't care =)) and neither will you, because if i'm not wrong, none of you knows how to count calories =D&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll be honest, it matters a lot to me how my body looks in the mirror. one of the biggest factors for me to bb.. last year was really inconsistent, what with midyears, prelims, and o's. i think my 2.4 will be around 13-14 now =( pathetic. this year i have chance to plan my workout regimes but what with the school changes and all... can't plan properly. when i gym, the next 2-3 days i will ache like siao.. but then i realised during holidays its due to tendon weakness.. my muscle can take the stress but not the tendon.. thats why i can ache for 4 days at a time. so time for slow tendon strength training!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Goals and Details.&lt;br /&gt;-----------------&lt;br /&gt;81 kg, 175cm.&lt;br /&gt;bf approx~ 25%, ie. 20kg of me is fat! normal %age of a guy would be around 15-19. Loose approximation of one pound per week, which is a healthy rate. wow exactly 70 days.. to lose 6kg thereabouts. should be fine!&lt;br /&gt;2) Tendon strength to increase enough to handle the 'O' level period workout and ache for 48 hours PW max.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;hmm thats about it!&lt;br /&gt;milo goddess: i know you want to trade phones but i dun really want to get "it" bigger LOL&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I want an exercise bike. 300++. i think i can get it soon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;YAY i want to rant now. from here on i'm not liable for any spelling mistakes or punctuation errors or grammatical oversights.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Track and field.. yay i finally joined it this year.. i have never been in any sports which didn't include hitting something with something else.. pri 1-3 badminton, pri 4-6 tennis, sec 1-4 softball/air rifle..&lt;br /&gt;so i guess this is something different for me..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i joined for the field side, javelin! and maybe shotput! but the coach quit last year so i have no coach at all.. haha they tell me there's a j2 javeliner who's good but doesn't want to join track.. i wonder why =D.  BUT      i've been training for track/sprints.. its pretty lame actually.. one of the most short trainings i've ever been in.. but there's more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;just the other day we started training and after the warmup the guys all moved off to the gym, the captain, ruth, wasn't happy so she called us all back and told us there was no point having track and field if they don't train together. my rant begins here..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    Its good to have team spirit in any cca, whether its individualistic like X-country, or single event swimming, golf, tennis, whatever.. but its simply ridiculous to have a combined training for track and field.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The cca comprises  MANY events, short, middle, long distance running, throws like jav, shot and discus, jump like long, high, triple, and polevault. i understand the sr team is more veered towards middle and long d, but even the two SHOULD not train together. for the most simple reason, each of these categories require different muscle types. we're not even accounting the techniques required for the events here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are 3 diff muscle types, namely type I, type IIa and type IIb.&lt;br /&gt;    Type I is slow-twitch muscle, it can sustain muscle contractions over an extended period of time. the force output of these muscles are minimal, and they mainly make use of oxygen to power them. oxygen requirement = cardiovascular system = only prolonged exercise will improve this muscle type, discounting stuff like interval training.&lt;br /&gt;    For convenience's sake we can lump together the type II fibers. they are fast-twitch muscles, meanings they produce a large force output within a short time, eg. any sprints below 30seconds at 80-100% effort. they rely heavily on glycolytic energy system, which basically means you use up the stored energy in the muscle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Long d events obviously require full type I muscle fibers, which should be concentrated on by long d runners. At the tender age of 17-18 we cannot possibly be expected to have all-round fitness that the bloody society inappropriately requires. with the little time we have for training/recovery, we should spend as much time as possible on the fibers we need right? so why are the long d runners still running 5km fast 5km slow? isn't that way too little to be considered "training"? sorry to be slightly elitist, but standards are low..... my yj classmate has to clock 70km a week, and that's only if he doesn't want to go and do more. its like "lets just do homework and be done with it", and not "lets finish our homework, prepare for next lesson, and revise the last!"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;on to my original point of combined training, the sprinters should not be training with the long d runners at all.. explosive strength or the force that can only be produced by type II muscle fibers can only be trained with quick work, for example a modified/more intense fartlek, plyometrics, and explosive gym work. huiman(sp?) told me "i know very few sprinters who do well in 2.4".. WELL? ITS NOT A COINCIDENCE YOU KNOW? haha...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;then no throws coach. =((&lt;br /&gt;i told ruth i'm a thrower.. i have no need for distance work.. she told me "you still have to be fit right?"     no!!     i might take 12-13 for my 2.4 but i can squat with 90kgs on my back! same muscles used but different force required.. so trainings will be radically different.. definition of "fitness" is too loose and vague among people...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;final note.. when mr ting talked about vO2 max test being the ultimate test of fitness, it is only the test for aerobic fitness. vO2 max means the amount of oxygen you can pump in your blood stream at maximal effort.. olympic weightlifters might have a very low vO2 max but are they muscularly unfit? no way..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i think i'm very boring. zzzzzzzzz. Inevitably and typically of my mother, the subject veered to, what was to her "ridiculous", the public posting of names of accepted students in the JCs.&lt;br /&gt;    "Wah what if you don't want someone else to see your name there?"&lt;br /&gt;    Does it matter? We are going to find out in 15 days anyway.&lt;br /&gt;Lo and behold, topic suddenly changes to the posting of exam results.&lt;br /&gt;    "In my uni our names and detailed scores were posted for all to see. If you did badly, its embarassing you know. "&lt;br /&gt;    No I don't know. Will this affect me? Not really. If i did badly, do i deserve it? Yes.&lt;br /&gt;    "What is there to be shameful of?" ?? huh ??&lt;br /&gt;As surely as changing underwear(i hope), the topic moved onto my attitude.&lt;br /&gt;    "Maybe that's a good and bad thing. It might be good for you emotionally if you are not affected by such things, but you also might not do well simply because you don't compare yourself with others."&lt;br /&gt;    Well ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the terms, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;PASSION and COMPETITION.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Peer pressure? What's that?&lt;br /&gt;    Don't misunderstand, I am not doubting the effect of "Iron sharpening Irons" (hehehehehe). I'm just saying, to truly do the best of your ability, passion is the most important to me. It encompasses your priorities, your state of mind, your attitude.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Being hypocritical i will now bring your attentiuon to the interesting entity of..... "other people".&lt;br /&gt;I have had all manner of friends, personally coming from a PAP kindergarten(note the spelling, nubs!) going on to a neighbourhood pri sch, then to a school with two cultures(pri sch being english based and secondary section being chinese based), then befriending my elder brother's classmates from a good school with all sorts of mixed backgrounds, and finally my own secondary school(no i'm not telling =D) which has a real weird mix of students.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've encountered many who let "other people" matter too much. I know a girl who unsuccessfully commited suicide. I know a guy who feels ashamed of his extra retained year in secondary school. I know people who choose their churches by the peopl who go there(works many ways). Like a certain major church we know.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've no right to say they are wrong, many factors come into play and I'd be lying to say i know all of them. But i wish more was put into the development of character, EQ, life skills.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Suffice to say, i am not going to kill myself because some tool does not like me, some tool looks down on me. I have more to live for than "other people". But like i said, it isn't the case nowadays. not as hardcore as primary gep. but the "hardcore" in our general context wasn't very hard, but in primary school context it is a PWNAGE level.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; don't know about you guys but we learnt lots of shortcuts, one of them being the gauss theorem, in primary 5. some of you might have been taught this too, but only some schools will add this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; i think the programme just did what it said; give us a deeper view of what is happening. we might not have understood everything at the time, but the exposure to new AND repeated material led us to just walk all over the standards of the PSLE.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; of course, we know PSLE and O level is generally muggable, so this doesn't say much. So our abilities for some of us lie in the "non-academic" sections. Freedom of expression and 'un-hampered' creativity made us think differently. We're not smarter. In fact i would go so far as to say loads of american kids are smarter than us. Because they weren't always told to:&lt;br /&gt; 1) Shut up and listen.&lt;br /&gt; 2) Shut up and don't hold discussions in class.&lt;br /&gt; 3) Shut up and study.&lt;br /&gt;Their imagination runs wild and things get happening. Unlike over here? we got "creativity campaigns" and "sign up your child for creativity class! ages 3-10!" and other bullshit. Did you know that the syllabus for maths for primary schools has now changed so much such that they teach things like mental sums?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not that i am saying teaching kids how to do "shortcuts" like mental sums is a bad idea, but in essence they're hampering your thoughts once again! nearly ALL of us discovered how to do mental sums as a result of drilling and constant practice. now they have strictly regimented ways of doing mentals sums. like specific number bonding, e.g. 786 + 982.  they tell you to make 982 into 1k cos its easier. so it becomes 1000+768. like wtf? we learnt this through experience! its the only way it sticks!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the conventional method was : 1) Experiment and learn the hard way.&lt;br /&gt;2) Practice and it'll stick.&lt;br /&gt;the new method: 1) We teach you exactly how to do it.&lt;br /&gt;2) Practice only these ways.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Does anyone know what i'm talking about? If they execute him.. Singapore can safely keep the stand on drug traffickers, and everyone will think "woah Singapore's a small red dot, but don't mess with them. You can't blame them." Irony, yes?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As for the social etiquette suggestion... i think it'd give the complete reverse effect. You tell them to be normal sociable beings, they won't listen to you, they'll even be rebelliously anti-social in the class just for the fun of it. Having a "junior" like this is pretty normal, many geps are really pompous, but the problem with this one is... i think she won't learn the easy way. No matter what geps do, they'll get the shit. From some of the worse examples of "mainstreamers". Just imagine a "mainstreamer" verbally abusing a gep. Two choices, the gep reacts, or the gep keeps quiet and walks away. If he reacts, he'll be playing right into the bully's hands. I'm just telling my point of view cos i have more than twice her experiences in GEP and its a bit obvious that i get more of the whole picture surrounding geps and non-geps than her. I'm telling it like it is.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ok tell you what, for you to comment better i'll just write a few statements about the reality for GEPs. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: lucida grande;"&gt;Primary section&lt;br /&gt;1. Most of us made it by "tyco"-ing the damn screening test. Shoving us into this "prestigious" program is a choice that 99% of parents would choose. I know you would have done if you'd never heard of GEP before. Choosing us when we didn't know what damn 1/3 of the test was about is a probably a bad move by the MOE.&lt;br /&gt;2. Most of the geps made it because of our parent's upbringing. Our standard of English, AT THAT TIME, was undoubtedly better than the rest, cos we were exposed to more books, more events, more words. Generally the "culture" we went through at home was great for English. These of us, can be separated into two groups. 1) The really hardworking kind who will end up working through to O's. 2) The natural-born kind who just had a knack for studies of the PSLE level.&lt;br /&gt;3. Something like 2/3 of the GEPs were from well-to-do families. Some were proud little shits, right from the day they stepped into the first GEP class. We all thought we were pretty damn smart until we had to face people from that second group in my second point.&lt;br /&gt;4. To all GEPs who graduated from 7 years of GEP: I think you'll agree with me that we were pompous retards right till sec 1. Our natural flair for WANTING to talk kicked in and developed cos the GEP program encourages "expression". We were self-righteous.... but not the way Michelle Qiu put it. We didn't and don't think the "mainstreamers" were immature or any less of a human than us.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondary GEP.&lt;br /&gt;1. Secondary GEP system is useless.&lt;br /&gt;2. Secondary GEP system is useless.&lt;br /&gt;3. Secondary GEP system is useless.&lt;br /&gt;4. Sec -- Oh wait. I already said it. For the straight truth to it, once we hit Secondary 4 there was no longer any GEP/non-gep. Sorry to hear that" (Nov 19-20) — about the pressures and ostracism faced by students of the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) — one former GEP student writes in to defend the scheme, while a father pours out his anguish for his two daughters.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;IT WAS a proud day for me in 2001, when my wife handed me a letter from the Ministry of Education indicating that my eldest daughter had qualified for the GEP.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;She had gone through two qualifying rounds of tests and made it to the top 5 per cent of her cohort.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Actually GEP is 1% if i'm not wrong. But no difference anyhow. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As parents, we were invited for a talk where we were given the VIP treatment and introduced to the GEP programme.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is a world of small class sizes, specially trained teachers, exclusive facilities, enrichment programmes and an almost guaranteed pathway to the best secondary schools in Singapore.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Exclusive facilities is a lie. Outright. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We were warned about the heavy schedule, but we felt our child could handle it — and anyway, how could we deprive our daughter of the chance to be in such an exclusive programme?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thus began our nightmare — a non-standard schedule that necessitated that my wife and I provide transportation to and from school, as she could no longer take the school bus.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;font-size:85%;" &gt;[ Umm i think these are just words of an over-protective parent. I, and i know most others, took our own buses and trains home. Gregory Lim, big man of TCHS now and my former classmate, took a 1.5hour long bus ride EVERYDAY back to Simei. By himself. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While this was an inconvenience for us, what was more alarming was the fact that my daughter became the busiest person in the family.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Personally, I think her family very slack. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With long school hours, homework and project work forcing her to sleep at midnight almost daily and leaving her with little or no time for our family.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ She's an inefficient worker and someone should have helped her out. Instead of parents sitting there and whining NOW a few years later. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For a girl of her age, my daughter is very knowledgeable, computer savvy and has been exposed to many more non-academic subjects than students in the express stream.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Non-academic is correct. Non-important is also correct. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, in trying to cope with the huge volume of work and the demands on her time, she has become impatient, demanding, argumentative, competitive and lacking in social skills.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Its called stress-induced moodiness. Your kid is having a hard time. Its your fault for being an indecisive parent. For goodness' sake she's a kid. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We expressed our concerns to the teachers but were told that GEP students are like that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ See? Once again, No Action, Talk Only. Talk is cheap, but if they had really cared so much, they would have asked her directly what she felt was wrong. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We asked for a reduction in the volume of work, but the answer was that this programme was 20 years old and the approach had been proven effective.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ What a ridiculous request. Would it be plausible in ANY circumstance to ask the teacher to lighten the workload? ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Advice from other GEP parents was to withdraw our daughter from the programme, but this was not an option, given the potential psychological impact on our daughter and on us as proud parents.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;She could cope — but at a price. And we could not imagine life as parents of a GEP dropout.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Bullshit. If you trained your child to be psychologically strong, stuff like "peer pressure" and "name-calling" would be PEANUTS to your child. Your child seems smart enough to be argumentative, why not make her strong-willed in ALL areas? Maybe i'm asking too much of parents here. Hmm. ] &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In 2003, it was my youngest daughter's turn to take the GEP qualifying tests. We tried to dissuade her by pointing to her sister's miserable life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It did not work; she also qualified and is now in the second year of the GEP.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Like her sister, she struggles to cope with the demands of the programme. Fortunately, as parents, we were better able to cope the second time round.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, when I meet parents who tell me that their child is in the GEP, I can't help but say to them: "A gifted student? Sorry to hear that."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;[ Letter from Michelle Qiu should start here. My bitching also begins here. ]&lt;br /&gt;YOUR report gives the impression that GEP students are mentally unprepared for the curriculum and that students do not like being in the GEP.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Yes, we do not like the GEP. Suck it up like a good freak, yea? ] &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Having just graduated from the GEP after three years, I beg to differ.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ The only thing you're begging for is a fight. Yours. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I may not be the best student in my GEP centre, but I did not find the curriculum pressure-packed, and looking at the fun the students have, I doubt the others did either. Sure, we get our share of homework and projects, but nobody said life was a bed of roses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The study noted that in Primary 6, we were "stereotyped and subjected to heckling and verbal abuse". Yes, we do get such things from mainstream Pri 6 students, but it's nothing we can't handle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Yea, dumb bitch. The adults realised that, that's why we're still in this fucked up state. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see, GEPers (as we call ourselves) are more mature than most mainstreamers, the result of being in the GEP. This forces us to become good friends.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ Rubbish. Cockshit. Bullcrap. We aren't all good friends. Or are you too self-righteous to notice anything so obvious it nearly smacked you in the face for frustration of such blindness. ]&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We were all mainstream students before the GEP. Most of us found it boring in mainstream classes, as we knew most of the curriculum and it was easy to get good grades. But when faced with someone at our own level, we step up our efforts to compete.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;[ We didn't find it boring, we found it relatively easy. Don't make yourself sound so genius. "Your own level"? Who defined that level? Your ego. You dumb whore. Your ego. ] &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sure, there are a few who can't cope, but they withdraw in the first or second year. My school saw only two withdrawals out of 52 people. Don't blame people for not knowing your experiences. Furthermore, no one cares. Harry wakes up from the nightmare-vision in -- wtf? THE BURROW. Portkey journey ended cheesily with everyone sprawled on the ground except for the Diggorys and Arthur floating to the ground kicking their legs like qing-gong masters from chinese movies so old-fashioned they died.&lt;br /&gt;3) Intro the teams for the Quidditch World Cup. WOOHOO Fudge starts the game and KABOOM THE GAME NEVER HAPPENS.&lt;br /&gt;4) Ron cheering in their tent. Arthur comes in and tells him to get out cos trouble is happening.&lt;br /&gt;5) You see a bunch of Ku Klux Klan wannabes with their pointy hats and they're doing what? Throwing flames and torches. Hey what? A whole Ministry from England and no one can stop a bunch of ppl holding torches.&lt;br /&gt;6) Harry gets his ass kicked by ppl running past him.&lt;br /&gt;7) the blah blah scene continues and barty crouch comes and goes.&lt;br /&gt;8) Woo they're already on the Hogwarts Express. Why can't WIZARDS create a train that can run without coal/smoke?&lt;br /&gt;9) Harry does a good job of acting a lovesick fool. Thumbs up.&lt;br /&gt;10) Hey what? The Durmstrang ppl and Beauxbaton ppl are arriving.&lt;br /&gt;11) Everyone's sitting in the great hall. The Beauxbaton girls come prancing in, stopping every few steps to curtsey and freaking let out loose moans. What the hell! Then the pumpkin heads from Durmstrang come in chanting like Shakespearan devil creatures and one of them starts breakdancing. HOHOHO.&lt;br /&gt;12) blah blah blah. Actor for dumbledore sucks. He is supposed to be grand. Not obsessive compulsive.&lt;br /&gt;13) He charges into the champion's room and manhandles Harry, asking him "did you put your name inside?" wtf?&lt;br /&gt;14) BAM! You're into the first task and they somehow skip EVERYONE'S event and starts harry. He gets pwned for a lil while then he gets his firebolt and zooms off, leading the dragon away to the school. You get some Sean-Claude Van Damme fight scenes on top of the school buildings and then the jackshit dragon hits his head on a bridge and falls to his doom. Whoop-dee-doo! Note: Mothers of animals of any kind do not leave their nests unprotected and chase a dumbo fly. Apparently this did not occur to the scriptwriter when he edited the details of the book.&lt;br /&gt;14) Finally the damn show slows down. Yule ball was okay, fit the description of the book.&lt;br /&gt;15) blah they follow the book till harry rescues the two ppl. then he is swamped by some gay octupusses and almost dies, and then he finally remembers he can cast a spell that shoots him out of the water. O-M-G. Why did he not do that from the very beginning.&lt;br /&gt;16) Krum the pumpkin head struts around in a singlet and girls chase him. Woo. they were probably trying to use his head as a mirror.&lt;br /&gt;17) From final task onward, everything became nicer. But there was no impact felt when cedric diggory died. no atmosphere. nothing. he just died.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Woo! Things i don't like.&lt;br /&gt;1) The actor of dumbledore. Dumbledore is supposed to be a big grand man, fearless, wise, patient, unstoppable. But he was FRIGGING WEAK in this show. He shoved Harry, he had trouble getting the attention of people, he was so weak in his first pensieve scene. Wth man. Why did the first dumbledore die... =((&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) The show had no flow. Its just like what Ant said, "Event after event after event." No character development, no atmosphere buildup. Climax wasn't the great either.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3)  They uglified emma watson. Who saw the wrinkles on her forehead? Who saw her disgusting drawn eyebrows? Who thinks her character has been turned into a whore?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4) The Beauxbaton girls are just french, they are not stereotypical schoolgirls from a "Madeline" cartoon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) They cut like half the story. They should have put in 20 mins more for the 3 hour max to put fun details like the quidditch world cup, the Sphinx scene in the maze at least.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Things i like:&lt;br /&gt;1) Fred and George were great. GREAT. really funny and realistic.&lt;br /&gt;2) Cho Chang is actually not bad, except for the fact that she puts on a fake Scottish(wtf?) accent. But BoA would've attracted an extra 1-2 million viewers of Goblet of Fire.&lt;br /&gt;3) McGonagall, Snape, the twins, Neville Longbottom, Hagrid, Olympe, Voldemort and Lucius Malfoy were the best characters in the show. Harry Potter's starting to get real uninteresting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am so bo liao. YOU LOSE WATERWEIGHT. this is how products like xando and xtrim trick yo frigging ass off. they give a mainly diuretic effect, like coffee and tee, which means that you lose a lot of water when you eat it. some of these products actually do what they say and block out carbs... BUT GUESS WHAT? carbs don't make you fat. eating carbs doesn't make you fat. eating protein doesn't make you fat. EATING FAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU FAT. eating over the calorie limit does. 6weeks lose 9kg? forget it. 9kg is 19.8pounds, which is 69300 calories. 6 weeks = 42 days. 69300/42 = 1650. you need to reduce 1650 calories a day to lose that much weight. rubbish. woo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ok back to my original aim of basic bb stuff, cos andre's interested.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many muscles in your body. filled with overachievers and someone like me's likely to be dumped in a corner rather than be affected by that shit "iron sharpens iron". i'm a phallic steel rod standing in the middle of nowhere and only I affect myself. that's not.. a  good thing. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;vj seems extremely fun, exactly where i want to be, but the fact they have an... unpleasant person(don't sue me) for a principal is slightly disturbing. and there are two extremely fun persons i know who tell me its filled with weirdos and the like. and another two similarly fun people telling me its a great big party...&lt;br /&gt;ac's gonna be filled with familiar faces, posers, chiobus, bimbos, and simply girls who will shame the heck out of the name "acs". sounds toooo similar to a description of modern singapore for your comfort? About softball. as we talked... i figured, shit, coach's training methods are just about all wrong. and he's gonna lose every year. not that i wanna help the old man, but his heart's gonna give and no one's gonna know why. i'd tell him myself but i pissed him off cos i don't want to play softball back in ib, mainly cos of his training methods, so its a bit...... ironic. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the man says, "Run your fragging 4km and then go gym. Don't slack, and who owes me money??!"&lt;br /&gt;hokay, for fat shits like me and a certain arthur out there, the 4km is good. each mile, which is roughly 1.6km, eats up 100calories for people of a certain weight, lets say 70-80 kg. so that's 250calories burnt. in lurid sweat, and thousands of puffs of carbon dioxide. when energy output(movement) &gt; energy input(food), you lose weight. of course, the "don't slack" part ensures cardiovascular health, in layman terms it means your heart will become more healthy. Your heart is a muscle. you work the muscle hard. so when it recovers, it pumps more powerfully and you need less pumps to get blood to every last vein. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the calories have got to come from somewhere right? for those firm believers that running more than 20 or 30 or 40 minutes will switch your calorie usage to fat instead of carbs, stamp out that thought. get selective amnesia. chuck it in the bin. replace it. with this. your body uses energy from fat ALL THE TIME. its just that after a certain amount of time(depending on fitness level), your body recognises that its in for slightly long duration work, and what better way than to get energy from the all powerful fat? fat's 9 calories a gram, while carbs and protein is 4. fat is THE SHIT! so your body ups the ratio of fat burnt to carbs burnt for energy!  What i go round in circles to say is this -&gt; Your body uses up a lot of energy for that freaking 4km run. no energy for gym. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Onward! You want to build strength for skill/strength based sport like softball. so when you go gym, you drastically overload your muscles. OVERLOAD IS THE KEY. NO OVERLOAD = NO GAIN. If you don't force your muscles to realise that it needs more strength to hold that rusty 15kg dumbbell in the corner of that grimy old gym, you stay thin. shit-stick that popped out from some kid's ice cream that dribbled into the tiles on the floor. Weak, formless, and made up of condensed fat. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Point being; You:&lt;br /&gt;1) use up energy for a damned useless run&lt;br /&gt;2) have no energy for overloading your muscles in the gym&lt;br /&gt;3) end up shooting adrenaline and testosterone into your veins to do the weights. adrenaline's a natural drug, as always, it makes your body feel tired after it stops going into the veins. testosterone. ahh. good old "wow i can do the whole stack of weights wow everyone's looking at me and awe-ing their guts out, while i'm mindlessly tearing my shoulder rotators into bits doing an illegal lat pulldown!". yes. illegal. coach doesn't even teach you how to use the goddamn machines. in fact the only thing i think he teaches right is how to BREATHE. you exhale when you exert in any machine/freeweight, and inhale when you lower the weight. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There. That was it. The beginning. Now is where coach seems to be doing everything perfect, but there still seems to be something wrong... &lt;br /&gt;Coach probably knows what exercise does what, but no one else does. and that's the problem. Lets say i gave you a whole load of random sums to do, but don't tell you what they are. So you just blindly do the sums and hand it back in. A couple of weeks later i tell you you made a million bucks from doing those sums. but what the fuck? you'll never know if i stole a second million which was due to you? thats pretty much what coach is doing. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) When coach makes you jump over sticks continuously and instantaneously, it seems a pretty stupid idea at the time, but its called &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;plyometrics. &lt;/span&gt;"T&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:85%;"  &gt;he term is used to describe the method of training which seeks to enhance an individual's "explosive" reaction through rapid and powerful muscular contractions." BB.com definition. Listen boys and girls.. this is what separates professionals and amateurs. Its this little thing called knowledge. and that other thing called application. Which are both somehow unrelated to "jump jump grunt grunt jump jump sigh grunt jump jump oh wow i can jump further than before". Simply put, this method of training, if done as strictly as possible, with full muscular control, promotes explosive power. I may be a fat shit but i can confidently say i jump higher than everyone in the entire softball team apart from jia qing, who's crazy =D. Can coach say the same for anyone else? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) When coach separates you into teams and makes you compete to run a short distance and back, and then makes you run that distance, back, a further distance, and back, blah so on so forth. By a miracle of chance it can be called interval training, speedwork, fartlek. Apart from the fat burning side-effects that come from this training, your speed increases pretty drastically, especially if you're a teenage/noob athlete. Muscles have 2 types of fibres. Just assume that doing short bursts of high intensity work requires the faster type of fibre. interval training trains this perfectly. &lt;br /&gt;(side note: vO2max, this is what people like marcus lim zhi zhong have a super high value of. vO2max is the amount of oxygen you can pump at maximal effort of exertion. interval training ups your vO2max if you train hard enough. with more oxygen you can basically kick ass at sprint events. Burn the living daylights out of the diamond.) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Back to my original rant. With no proper planning, you can't have a 4km run, a gym session, and a "physical" all in one day, let alone after school hours. Your body just doesn't get all the desired effects by training hard. Without rest and reparation by eating properly, NOTHING will be achieved. This motto for bodybuilders can be applied to nearly all who train in the gym -&gt; "The greatest gains are made out of the gym." Don't be mistaken, this isn't a plea to all non-homosexuals to stay out of gyms and their showers. This means you only grow, whether in size or strength, when you rest and repair your muscles. 3 times a week of overload, speed, endurance training just doesn't work. not even 2 times. Multi-tasking is not an option. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well....... thats a load off my chest. The other day i woke up late, my mother flared up and she said some things which didn't really help but it woke me up a bit. One of the things she said was "stop wasting everyone's time". However much i hate why she said that at the time, she's right. I mean, to say it the "cool" way, half-assed effort gives half-assed results. So I've started being more serious now..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;People who know me know I've been getting into changing my body, blah blah blah. But, my results have been stagnant, beginning at 84kg, losing 4kg during midyears, then losing another 3 before prelims. 77kg. Gained 1+ kg during the 4 week exams. pretty sad.. but nvm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since people usually just LOVE listening to what i have to say on nutrition, i'll just type it here so they can refer whenever they want. =&lt;br /&gt;How to lose weight: Take the miracle pills, Xando weight loss pills, Hydroxycut, Hot-Rox and maybe x-trim! Shave inches off your thighs and waist! They really work!&lt;br /&gt;No I'm kidding, thats just bullshit that many clueless teen girls(offence intended) believe.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First you have to understand your body requires a certain caloric requirement each DAY to survive. Something around 2000-2200calories for young people like us. In order to lose weight you need a negative energy balance, which means a caloric deficit of around 500calories at first, to lose weight. 1lb(~0.5kg) of fat, is roughly 3500calories. So if you want to lose 1lb of fat, you have to cut 500calories, for 7 days!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For clarification's sake, if you cut to below a certain amount, like below 1200-1400 calories a day, your body will go into starvation mode, or fat-storage mode. Fat is the most efficient storage of energy, 9calories per gram of fat. So... some fools actually believe "wow! 3kg in 4days!". 3kg of fat = -5250calories a day. which means you actually vomitted out food that you did not eat, amounting to 5250 calories! wow!
